Why should You join a church?

Joining a church is not a requirement, but it is an important part of discipleship.  Taking this step is a declaration of commitment to become a part of part of like-minded Christians who are commited to making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Church membership enters you into a covenant relationship to nurture and be nurtured, to encourage and be encouraged, and to serve and be served.

What is required?

Three things are required for membership in Sulphur United Methodist Church.

  • Profession of faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior
  • Baptism (We accept Christian baptisms performed by other churches.  We do not re-baptize anyone.)
  • Affirming a vow to faithfully participate in the church's ministries by your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness

How do I join this church?

  • By baptism
  • By profession of faith, if you are not currently a member of another church but are a baptized Christian
  • By transfer of membership from another church

Contact the pastor if you have questions and/or you wish to join this church.
